The Construction of the Blades
It is important in your plans to cut the PVC pipe precisely to get the most appropriate performance out of the blades. This is kind of hard to explain and you will just have to try a few designs that will work best for your particular setup.
Hub and Blade Assembly
You can attach the hub by drilling holes into a metal disk and attaching the pvc blades to it. One thing that is the easiest is getting a saw blade or steel disc because they are easy to work with and don't have a large amount of weight as well.
Building the Tail
The tail is basically the spinning platform that contains your generator and the cables to the power source. With a jigsaw and some aluminum and square tubing you can easily create the tail needed to point your blades into the wind. It is important to cover the generator so it isn't completely exposed to the elements, so you can have the generator inside of pvc pipe cover, and cut holes for the power cord.
Building the tower
Every wind generator needs a sturdy tower, some pipe fittings from the local hardware store will do just fine. With a couple of 5 foot sections of pipe connected together will provide a tall enough mount so that you have the opportunity to catch enough wind to power your generator.
