how often AIDS is transmitted through dentist tools in the U.S?
I wanted to post a question regarding HIV transmission in U.S.A, through dentist tools or needles. does it happen? how often?. Do the dental insurance companies do regular check ups on dental facilities, regarding hygiene issues?. if you are a dentist or some one how have an idea about what am talking about please reply. I just want to have a background regarding this issue.

I would say it's quite possible, if you think with common sense. I have often wondered myself just how often it happens. Another thing with AIDES is chronic gum disease. Definitely a higher probability of contrating HIV with Orthodontists who specialize in treating gum disease. Mosquito's transfer virus of all sorts and can very easily transfer the HIV virus. Glad to see your thinking and not allowing the misinformed sheep to lead you. You can further your skepticism by remembering Rock Hudson and the secret lifestyle he led. Which groups of people were decimated by the disease in the early 80's, primarily the homosexuals. There's a campaign under way in this country to minimize this disease, the way it's spread, and the seriousness of it. You see it here on Yahoo Answers.
The US blood supply is said to be thoroughly tested and HIV free. That is just not the case. We just lost a good friend from contracting AIDES related infections from a blood transfusion.
If you could count on mankind to not make any mistakes and there wasn't any mentally disturbed professionals, it might be possible to eliminate the transfer in a dentist office, but thats just not the case.
As far as the drug needles go, you make a relavant point. Who's to say when the conditions are over to support the virus. Does it happen at every temperature? At every humidty level? A trace of blood? One drop of blood diluted in warm saliva? and on and on we go.
Just a year ago I left my dentist because while being in the chair I happened to look over at the sink and it was horribly covered with bacterial laden slime in and around the faucet.
