How do you get a stain from childs sticky finger throw off walls, doors, and furniture?
My daughter got a sticky hand (a little jelly toy that they throw) from a holiday party at school. It has stained my antique white desk with pick marks from her fingers and from the sticky finger. It has stained my white woodwork where she threw it. It has stained the white doors where she put her hands. I have tried the magic eraser, lysol and it does not come off. HELP - does anyone have any other solutions?
You can remove the dye stains with Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover. It should work with everything except possibly the walls. You might have to prime and paint the walls. If the walls are painted in semi-gloss or satin finish paint, try using the Krud Kutter. If the walls are painted in flat paint, do not use the Krud Kutter on them. The Krud Kutter could make it harder to paint over the spot, and I honestly think priming and re-painting the wall is your only option if you have flat paint.
You might be able to remove the marks from the walls with toothpaste and a wet rag. It's worth a try. Toothpaste removes crayon marks, so it might remove the dye marks. Any toothpaste works as long as it's the typical white toothpaste. Gels don't work. (No guarantees here, but it's worth a try.)
As for the desk and doors, Spray Krud Kutter onto a clean rag and just wipe the ink right off these surfaces.
