Sonicare Flexcare Toothbrush
Does using the Sonicare Flexcare toothbrush loosen crowns? Has anyone heard of this happening?
I have been using the Sonicare Flexcare for about 6 months and have a crown. I recently read a couple forum posts where people say their dentist told them Sonicare loosens crowns. Just wondering if it's just an isolated forum post or if anyone has ever heard about this happening while using Sonicare.
Sonicare electrical toothbrush outputs this ultrasonic frequency, it is similar to the instruments that your dentist use to clean out tartar buildups in your mouth.
Usually this does not cause a problem on a permanently cemented crown as the cements used are usually very strong and does not disintegrate that easily. However if it is a temporary cement this is quite common due to the weak temporary cement.
Using an Sonicare will do more benefit than bad. Keep using it like you normall would. I am willing to bet that you are never going to have a problem with your crown.
