Teeth Bleaching Trays|Do They Work
If you are like me, you are probably looking for an easy, inexpensive way to get a beautiful white smile. Yellow teeth can be a real turn off in many situations. How Exactly Do They Work?
Basically a teeth bleaching tray is like a mouth guard. Normally these trays come with some sort of peroxide solution. This solution is normally Carbamide Peroxide. What happens is that this solution breaks down into Hydrogen Peroxide and acts to get rid of the stains on your teeth through oxidation. You put the solution into the tray and then insert the tray into your mouth. The solution does the rest. You should look for a bleaching tray that contains somewhere between 10-20% peroxide. Anything over that is too much.
How Long Does It Take?
Normally you will leave the tray on your teeth for about 15-20 minutes depending on the product that you are using. This is done about twice per day for a period of 2 weeks. This is typically how long it takes. Every product is different, so just follow the instructions.
Side Effects
Usually the only side effect with teeth bleaching trays is that your teeth may become sensitive. This does not lost forever. Usually after one week of stopping the process, your teeth will return to normal. If you find that it persists, you should lower the amount of time that you leave the trays in your mouth. You can also look for special toothpaste for sensitive teeth that will help alleviate the sensitivity.
Alternatives to Teeth Bleaching Trays
