I'm planning on having a two year engagement so i have some time but i would like to have a do it yourself wedding to some extent. I want to make my own bouquets and some party favors and other things. I dont want to go to michaels and pick up a kit i want to make it all from scratch. I want a traditionalmodern wedding. Something that is fairly new world but still holds some old world traditions. My wedding colors are pink and yellow for now. Any ideas on how to do somethings by yourself?? Any ideas on what i can do on my own?? Any ideas on wedding in general??
Invites:
Design your own on Mircrosoft word and print them out on high quality paper then mail them out
Flowers:
Make your own bouquets, the internet is full of how to videos on bouquets. Practice a few now with grocery store flowers. Make all the other bouquets, centre pieces, etc.
Cake:
You could DIY or have someone who know and trust make one. I personally wouldn't, too much too think about so close to the day (not to mention I suck at baking)
Dress and Accessories:
I wouldn't DIY your dress unless you or someone else is skilled but you definitely DIY your accessories. Veils, head pieces and flowers are easy to make and put in your hair.
Grooming:
You can do your own hair, have all the BM help each other out with their hair, make up and nails.
Music:
Create playlists on an iPod and hook them up to speakers.
Food:
Buy the food yourself and then employ 4 or 5 close family members to help you prep all of it the day before. To cook the food on the day have you, a loved one or even hire a food services student from the nearest college to cook and set out the food.
Decor:
Buy things from dollar stores or craft stores and make them. The best is if you can set everything up the night before and leave it there until your wedding. If not see if it can be done before the ceremony with ease.
The best thing to do is to google the things you want and try to replicate them, I mean they were created by humans at one point, if they can do it, you can.
