I'm looking for some guidance. What career opportunities, or businesses could I start, for someone like myself who craves being a liaison-type individual?
One example I was thinking of was, for instance, a dentist, or group of dentists, are starting their new practice. They obviously need to furnish their offices with the equipment they'll need--dental chairs, x-ray machines, drill machines, teeth cleaning machines, etc. And I'm sure dentists detest the "busy work." I'd step in as a consultant, finding good deals for them, ordering the equipment, getting them installed.
What opportunities exist out "there" for someone with this type of interest and talent? It's unique, but I would think "someone" out there could use this skill.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Not as unique as you think. This type of work is very common in larger corp.'s and state agency's make it a habbit to have a contractual liaison around. Sounds like you are looking to be a buyer or an aid-de-camp. How you would go about something like this depends on your education and experience but always start with a bizz plan if you go out on your own and don't quit the job you have...the risks are great.
Ask a wedding planner how they started out......those folks are true liaison/relationship managers.
