I work in an Animal Hospital. We have not yet converted to digital x rays so we do it the old fashioned way. We are having a difficult time trying to find a way to file the films. We had them in small ziploc 'parts bags' and that was too messy. Now, we have them in small dental envelopes then those are tucked into pockets that are then put in a 3-ring binder. And that we have found to be cumbersome and takes up a lot of room since we take quite a few per year. Currently I am tryting to find a way to scan and put in patients computer history file. It is soo close to coming in on the computer. No success yet and we are unable to change color/contrast to make it work. Anyone have any nice and neat filing ideas or better yet, know how to scan in and it to actually work?!?! Thank you
I would think that scanning them should work. Since they're black & white, you should be able to use the black & white or gray scale mode. You didn't say what kinds of problems you were having when scanning them, so not sure what to tell you to help. You should be able to set a scan settings to a specific size to get the complete image. You might try turning off the auto-crop setting, if it keeps clipping the size, and set the size manually. 300 dpi should work pretty well for the resolution, though you could try 200 dpi to see if it is good enough. I would need more specifics in order to suggest anything else.
