Crest whitening mouthwash for braces good or bad?
I am using a anti cavity mouth wash for my mouth with braces right now. My teeth are yellow on top, I don't have braces on bottom and it's disgusting. I brush my teeth really well and got my teeth cleaned top and bottom. Bottom teeth great but top isn't because the dentist couldn't clean it as well since I got braces on the top. Can I use Crest whitening mouthwash? Or is it bad like will it eat the glue?
I dont think that the mouth wash will do anything to the cement that is holding the brackets to the teeth, but the thing about using whitening agents during the span of the time you wear your braces is the fact that the whitening agent be it whatever you want to use including the mouthwash will only whiten the places that you can see. The places, like the area where your brackets are for instance will not be whitened. So when the braces are removed, im afraid your teeth will probably have little discolored squares. Ive seen it before, ive worked in a dental office for about 5 years now as an assistant, and it happens. I would hold off on any whitening products until your braces are removed, and then maybe think about professional whitening...Zoom in office whitening works wonders, although it is quite expensive it is worth it if you upkeep and maintain the whitening.
