What is ear candling? This article is going to discuss it based on a real and common problem that my friend is facing. She asks this because she has excess wax build up in her ears that has to be cleaned out every few months by the doctor. Some of those "doctors" have tortured her to the point of her crying like a baby and never going back there again. Her ears get so bad that she can't hear out of them. Is this candling a way to remove excess wax? Do you have to go to a special doctor?
I have done a lot of research on ear candles, and one of my friend has used them herself (with a friend, of course), and not with a doctor. You must be sure to find a reputable manufacturer/quality candles.
The candles themselves are not wax, but linen or other fabric. They work very well, but you also
need to be very careful not to damage the ear drum (the same precautions you would take with a
q-tip).
Now, does the ear candling get rid of all the wax in the ears?
Since I can't see into my ear, so I wouldn't know. But no, they cannot (and should not) remove all
wax, as it is a necessarily protective aspect of the ear. From what I read of tests done, the wax seems to simply come from the candle itself. I was all for this procedure but haven't read anything positive about it.
In addition, excessive ear wax is a symptom of mercury toxicity. You may consider removing amalgam fillings and chelation.
